Huawei Phones Only
This article applies only to users who own a Huawei phone, which runs the Android version of Celo.
By default, Huawei restricts apps from being able to send notifications to your phone. The option to allow notifications to be sent must be manually enabled via Settings.
- Open your phone's Settings .
- Using the search bar, type and open "App Launch".
- You may be sent to the Battery screen. If so, look for App Launch and press it.
-
In the App Launch screen, search for Celo.
-
Click the Celo app so that it says Manage Manually. This will open a list containing:
- Auto-launch
- Secondary launch
- Run in background
Ensure all three are switched on.
This allows Celo to run even as you are not using your phone, so that any messages sent to you can be detected and received straight away.
Enabling the Notification Banner
However, this may not enable the notification banner, which is the pop-up bubble that appears at the top of the screen when you receive a new message. This must be enabled separately.
- Open your phone's settings .
- Using the search bar, type and open the "Apps" button under the Apps header (not Storage).
- Search for Celo and open it.
- Press Notifications.
- Ensure that Allow notifications is switched on.
- Click chat notifications.
- Ensure that Allow notifications and Banners are both switched on as well.
This allows Celo to notify you using a pop-up banner when you receive a new message.
Disable Data Saver
You will not be able to receive notifications from an app if the network connection permission of the app is disabled, or you have enabled Data saver for the app.
- Open Phone Manager, go to Mobile Data > Networked apps, find Celo and enable at least one of Mobile Data and/or Wi-Fi.
- Open Phone Manager, go to Mobile Data > Data saver (Smart data saver), and disable Data saver (Smart data saver).
- Alternatively, you can keep Data saver (Smart data saver) enabled, locate Celo in the "EXEMPTIONS" list, and turn on the switch next to it.
Enable Wi-Fi/Mobile Data Switch
You will not be able to receive notifications from an app if the network connection permission of the app is disabled, or you have enabled Data saver for the app.
